LONDON & BUCKINGHAM PALACE STATE ROOMS

Sunday 30th July /Monday 31st July 2017

Sunday

We plan to catch the 09.20 train from Newton Abbot to London Paddington arriving approx 12.30.   It is just a short walk to our hotel the 4* superior Hilton Paddington.

The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy yourselves, with your train tickets there are various 241 offers usually available, which nowadays you have to download from the internet as they no longer print the handy booklet.

Many of the larger  museums in London are also usually free except for any special exhibition.

In the afternoon you might like to visit one of London's   hidden gems, Spencer House situated  just off St. James.   From its conception, Spencer House was recognised as one the most ambitious aristocratic town houses ever built in London and is the city's only great 18th Century private palace to survive intact. Following  a ten-year painstaking  restoration this magnificent aristocratic palace has regained the full splendour of its late eighteenth-century appearance and the eight staterooms are opened for viewing on guided tours which last approx one hour & cost £10 seniors & should be pre-booked.

Monday

After a good Hilton breakfast, check out and leave bags in luggage room.

Perhaps take an optional visit to The Royal Mews.

14.00 Meet at the groups entrance at Buckingham Palace ready for our 14.15 entry to Buckingham Palace Staterooms. An audio tour is included in the price to enhance your visit. It will tell the story of The Queen's reign through a wide-ranging display of official gifts presented to Her Majesty during the past 65 years.  With gifts representing every continent, including those from world leaders.  The exhibition will present a spectacular display of craftsmanship from across the globe.
