Morning departure with stops enroute to Channel for our crossing.
Our hotel for the next two nights is the Hilton Antwerp. The hotel is located on Antwerp's most famous
and historic town square in the heart of Antwerp city centre next to the iconic Cathedral of our Lady and within
walking distance of all major Antwerp attractions. The hotel building
formerly housed the Grand Bazar Shopping mall and the original 1864
facade still forms part of the hotel.
The hotel offers the most central location in Antwerp and is an ideal base
to discover the beautiful and historic city. Combining old-world charm
and stylish sophistication, the hotel overlooks the
city’s historic town square and Belgium’s finest architecture.
Saturday
A day to explore Antwerp, there is plenty to see and do & the hotel is in a perfect location for this.
There's the World Famous Diamond District, Zoo, Rubens House, Cathedral of our Lady, Grote Market, boat tours on the Scheldt & plenty of eating/drinking places to enjoy people watching over a Belgian beer & fries or mussels. The Central Railway Station is listed as the 4th most beautiful in the world.
Sunday
After breakfast we have to say farewell to Antwerp and head to Heerlen and hotel Van der Valk. Time to relax, change etc before we go into Maastricht for the highlight of our trip. Our 85 Euro seats should be in the centre block of the square for the concert.
Monday
After a slightly later breakfast unfortunately we have to make our way home but plan on stopping off somewhere in Belgium enroute before our crossing home.
