Today we visit the famous Keukenhof Gardens the most beautiful spring garden in the world! More than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with colour and fragrance. The pavilions feature 30 alternating flower and plant shows. Discover the latest trends in gardening and get new ideas from 7 inspirational gardens. Numerous works of art are shown to advantage amongst the flowers.
We return to Belgium and our hotel for two nights the Dolce La Hulpe, located in the heart of the Sonian Forest yet close to Brussels
Saturday
Every spring, the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are open to the public for
3 weeks. These incredible structures of steel and glass were the brainchild of
King Leopold II during the late 19th century and, today, still house
much of his admired botanical collection including some notable
camellias. These three weeks in spring will show the plants at their
very best, the time scheduled to display the most flowers in bloom.
After our visit to Laeken we travel to the Namur region of Belgium and The Gardens of Annevoie where this weekend these lovely water gardens are hosting the Venetian Costume Parade. Over 100 costumes will be in the Grand Parade and afterwards will be appearing in the gardens.
Sunday
Sadly after breakfast we have to say farewell to Belgium and head home but no before a visit Floralia Brussels set in the grounds of Chateau de Grand-Bigard. Here over one million bulbs of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and others will create a 14 hectacres tapestry of colour and fantasy in the park of the castle. There is an indoor exhibition in the 1.000m2 greenhouse and an orchid show in the chapel.
