Today is the first day of the Wells Bishops Palace English Country Garden Festival celebrating the English Country Garden on the weekend of the Queens 90th birthday celebrations.
Experience 14 acres of Palace gardens filled with stalls, hands-on demonstrations, refreshments, entertainment, top gardening personalities and new ideas for how to use and love your garden.
If you can find time Wells is a very interesting town, there is of course Wells Cathedral, an interesting town museum and town to explore.
After our visit to Wells we make our way to Reading and our overnight hotel - Hilton Reading

Saturday
Chance to use the leisure facilities, have a good breakfast then you should be ready of our day ahead.
Our first garden visit will be to Cliveden Gardens (National Trust) for a couple of hours. For more than 300 years Cliveden was home to dukes, earls, viscounts and
for a while a prince. A glittering hub of society, Cliveden hosted
exclusive parties and political gatherings, later becoming infamously
associated with the Profumo Affair. We will only have time for a taster of the gardens which are in
the Italian mode of the nineteenth century with mixed styles.
We then go onto Windsor for a visit to Eton College Gardens which will be opend this afternoon for charity.
This is a rare chance to visit a group of central College gardens surrounded by historic school buildings, including Luxmoore's garden on an island in the Thames reached across two attractive bridges. Also an opportunity to explore the fascinating Eton College Natural History Museum and a small group of other private gardens. Home made teas will also be available.
