MID WALES
Sunday 3rd/Wednesday 6th July 2022
Sunday
Morning departure with comfort stop enroute to the gardens at
Aberglasney which were made famous by the BBC television series “A Garden Lost in Time” which followed its restoration. Today it is quite simply one of Wales’ finest gardens
After we make out way to our hotel for the next 3 nights The Metropole Hotel & Spa @ Llandrindod Wells.
Monday
A ride on the The Talyllyn Railway, the first preserved railway in the World, known affectionately as ‘The Railway with a Heart of Gold’.
The heritage steam engines transport passengers from Tywyn, the coastal town on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, to Nant Gwernol buried deep in the mountains above Abergynolwyn.
Tuesday
We plan on stopping on our way to the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway for our two hour train journey through the Mid Wales countryside at Gregynog Hall for you to get coffee or lunch & explore the grounds.
Wednesday
This morning we will be joined on the coach by a Ranger from the Elan Valley and hopefully we will discover some of the hidden secrets of the valley and a tour inside Pen y Garreg Dam. Time for lunch at the Elan Valley visitor centre then in the afternoon we will visit Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding Centre where hundreds of Red Kites feed here every day. It is a truly breath-taking spectacle which we hope we be able to witness for ourselves.
