Sunday 15th/Tuesday 17th July 2018
We will make our way to Liverpool with coffee & lunch stop enroute to our hotel, Liverpool Marriot where you can use the leisure facilities before dinner.
We have chosen the Marriott as we stayed there in 2016 and found it a good location, plus this year the Terracotta Warrior Exhibition is on (timed tickets) at World Museum Liverpool a short walk from the hotel.
In the morning for those that would like, we start with a guided approx 2 hour coach tour, this will orientate you with the area. Then you are free to do as you wish. As there is so much to do & everyone has different tastes you can choose what you like. Perhaps visit one or both Cathedrals. Located either end of the aptly-named Hope Street, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral & Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King (Catholic) are vastly different in architecture but both majestic & beautiful. For those of a certain age there's The Beatles Story, a tour through the Beatles lives with fascinating memorabilia of the Fab Four & a visit to the Cavern Club. The Albert Dock area is a good place to explore - the list is endless.
After breakfast if anyone would like depending on numbers I can try and get a group rate for a boat/ferry across the Mersey or the Terracotta Warrior Exhibition or of course you can do as you please or do either of these arranging your own tickets for Monday.
We will leave after lunch & make our way home with comfort stops enroute.
