We make our way to Swindon

STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway is housed in a beautifully restored Grade II listed railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway.  We have arranged for you to have a highlights tour which lasts approx 1 hour and focuses on the highlights of the STEAM collection whilst learning about the history of Swindon Works and some of the stories of the workers.  Then time for you to explore at your leisure.

We will have a guided tour of  Lydiard House – a striking Grade I listed Palladian house that for 500 years was home to the St John family.  After you can explore the walled gardens, church & tea rooms.
